https://www.strava.com/routes/3087125537750634990

Route summary:

The Return of the Strada BianCondie. This annual event features pavement (70%) and gravel (30%). The ideal bike not clear, road bikes (with 32-35 mm tires possibly, less not recommended) and Gravel bikes (with faster tires) could both be options. The middle section of 7 Bridges usually tends to have a lot of loose Gravel so perhaps the Gravel Bike is the best…..

But the James Street Hill and long stretch of 734 may make the Road bike the best.

The route finishes historically in the parking lot, so be prepared for some bumps.

RCC is on Link My Ride

Based on feedback from the club, the exec has chosen to use an app called Link My Ride to post rides and manage attendance this season.

Link My Ride is an app that is supported by Cycling Canada and they are encouraging clubs across Canada to use it. You will be able to sign up for rides and see updates like calls about weather in the system.

Please download the app, make yourself an account and then search for Regina Cycle Club and join our club on the app (the pin representing us is at College and Albert in the explore tab). When you click on the club, you’ll see a notice board and an area where club rides are listed.

New for 2023: Learn to Group Ride

RCC will be offering a 5-week learn to group ride series this spring for ANYONE who would like to learn or brush up on their skills. This series will help you to become confident riding in a group and would be good preparation for our Thursday rides.

All genders and ages are welcome. To participate, riders should have a road bike in good working order and should be confident riding on their own (e.g. able to shift gears, brake).

Each Wednesday in May we’ll meet at Save-On-Foods at Chuka and Arcola at 6:30. Experienced members of the club will briefly discuss a new skill each week and then we’ll do a ride on the service road toward White City.

We’re asking two things of members right now:

  1. Please forward this information to anyone you think might be interested. Try-a-ride will be in effect, so non-members are able to come out for a maximum of three rides on waivers before they join the club.
  2. If you’re already comfortable with group riding, please consider volunteering for one or more nights. The more experience we have on time, the easier it will be for everyone! Please contact Nicole via email at president@reginacycleclub.ca.

Mark your calendars! Sign up details to follow.
