The plan for this year’s Thursday Adventure Rides was to a have a different experienced club member lead the ride each week. Your ride leaders were very much looking forward to sharing our favourite routes with you in person, but in lieu of this, we have created the 2020 Solo Adventure Challenge that highlights some of the best riding in the Regina area you can safely do while keeping within guidelines for physical distancing from people outside your household.

RCC Presents: The 2020 Solo Adventure Challenge

  1. Ride as many of the routes listed below as you can before May 31st.
  2. When you complete a route, update the leaderboard by checking off the routes you’ve done in the row with your name.
  3. Every route you ride counts as an entry for a prize draw that will be held on June 1st.

Rules & Other Fine Print

  1. All riders are responsible for assessing their own ability to ride a route and are advised to exercise due caution at all times.
  2. Be aware of the possibility for rapidly changing weather conditions.
  3. Be self-sufficient (bring tools, tubes, food, water, etc.).
  4. Practice physical distancing and make it a point to represent the club well during your activities by sharing paths and roads. SCA is requiring SOLO riding, or riding with someone from your household as 2 m distancing is not a safe separation for our sport.
  5. You should record your ride on strava or something similar, but we are essentially using the honour system for the leaderboard.
  6. Any ride that covers the principal elements of the route (e.g., covers the same roads and all major climbs) counts. You ride will count if you do the route backwards, for example. Your ride will also count if you add to the route (e.g., maybe you add an extra climb or an extra grid or two).
  7. This is an SCA sanctioned event, which means that you’re insured while participating. This also means you need your 2020 membership – time to sign up!
